Welcome to a brand new category for those of you who have decided to go back to basics. l know you’ve either heard of or even thought about going organic.  And why not?  One should want to live chemically and toxic free.  Have you actually taken the time to read the labels of some the products that you presently use?  OMG!  You would not believe the things that some manufacturers and farmers put into the products we consume on a daily basis.  In the name of producing more products and maintaining their freshness for sale. 

For those of you who are like me, who are either trying to lose or maintain your weight, you’ve already discovered that it takes not only a daily workout routine but the consumption of fresh vegetables, plenty of fruits, whole grains, and lean protein.  Which means that essentially you are treating your body as your temple and making sure that it not only looks good but functions like a fine tune vessel.  In doing so you may have considered going organic. 

According to the Mayo Clinic staff,

“The word “organic” refers to the way farmers grow and process agricultural products, such as fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy products and meat. Organic farming practices are designed to encourage soil and water conservation and reduce pollution”

Farmers who grow organic produce don’t use conventional methods to fertilize and control weeds. Examples of organic farming practices include using natural fertilizers to feed soil and plants, and using crop rotation or mulch to manage weeds.”

In doing my personal research I’ve come across articles that are either for or against the consumption of Organics Food.  Those who are not in favor claim, “that there just is not enough evidence that Organic Foods are better than conventional foods.” In thinking about that statement, and keeping in mind that the conventional method of farming requires pesticides whereas organically grown products do not.  And although the pesticides are approved by the government and we are told that the small amounts used on crops are not harmful to the consumer, but no one has ever said anything about long-term use and the effects that they may cause.

Ok, so this video over does it a bit, however, the message is clear, “Going Organic is definitely better for you, your family and the environment. “  Because I am not a scientist or an expert on organics, I have to continuously school myself and keep abreast of what it really means to go organic and in doing so I’ve decided to share information with you guys as well.  

The one thing we can all agree upon is the dire question that I am sure you as well as myself have wondered about, which is, “Does it really make sense to spend the extra dough on organics?” Well, this new category of mine will aid you in making that decision as well as aid you in finding where the great deals on organic products are located.
